Building software that
works beyond the screen.
I'm Mayur Athawale — a software developer focused on building full-stack products, scalable backend systems, and reliable infrastructure.
The person behind the code
Mayur Athawale
More than just writing code.
I'm a software developer focused on building thoughtful, reliable and scalable digital products. I enjoy working across the stack — from creating intuitive frontend experiences to designing the backend systems that power them.
My journey has taken me from frontend development into backend engineering, DevOps and machine learning. Each step started with the same curiosity: understanding what happens one layer deeper and how different parts of a system work together.
I enjoy solving real-world problems with clean code, well-designed APIs, efficient databases and reliable cloud infrastructure. Beyond writing code, I care about understanding the systems behind it — how they scale, how they fail and how they can be made better.
Currently, I'm exploring machine learning and intelligent software systems while continuing to strengthen my foundations in software engineering, distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
Things I've built.
A selection of products, systems, and experiments built with a focus on solving real problems rather than simply writing more code.

Where it all started. I joined WeCodeCrunchers as a trainee and spent this time learning core concepts — how components work, how state flows, how to structure a frontend project. This was my foundation before I ever wrote a line of production code.
My first real internship where I wrote proper React code in a professional setting. I built UI components, worked on responsive layouts, and learned how teams actually ship frontend code — version control, code reviews, and delivering features end to end.
Remote / Hybrid
Levelled up from React to Next.js here — and my first paid internship before Devally. This is where I started thinking beyond components — routing, server-side rendering, performance and building full pages rather than isolated UI. A significant step forward in how I approach frontend architecture.

Landing this was a milestone — I cold mailed INCOIS and got in. Working at the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services, a government research organisation, on real software systems. This taught me how software works at a different scale and with a different kind of responsibility.
Remote
Also landed through cold mailing — and my first paid internship. Working at Devally on product development, contributing across the stack and building features that go directly into a live product. A validation that persistence and outreach works.
